संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने परिवार को समाज का आधार बिन्दु माना है और परिवारों के खुशहाली के प्रति उत्तरदायित्वता के दर्शाने के लिए दिसम्बर 1989 को पास हुए प्रस्तावों 44/82 और 46/97 तथा दिसम्बर 1991 में पास हुए प्रस्ताव 44/82 कि पुन: पुष्टि करता हुआ प्रस्ताव सं. A/RES/47/237 , 20 सितम्बर 1993 को पारित किया ! इस प्रस्ताव के अनुसार हर वर्ष 15 मई को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय परिवार दिवस   के रुप में मनाने कि बात कही गई ! यह दिवस केवल परिवारों को उन्नति और खुशहाली का ही संदेश नही देता अपितु पूरे विश्व में संस्कृतियों के मिलन को भी प्रोतसाहित करता है !

प्रतीक : ठोस हरा वृत जिस में लाल रंग कि एक आकृति है.यह आकृति एक दिल और घर के आकार को प्रदर्शित करती है !यह प्रतीक बताता है कि परिवार समाज का केन्द्र बिन्दु है और यह सभी को एक स्थिर आधार देता है यह परिवारों में खुशहाली का प्रतीक है !तो दोस्तों आप कैसे भी व्यस्त हों आज का दिन परिवार के साथ मनायें ! यह एक दिन कुछ देर के लिए आप को खुशियाँ देगा , जो परिवार से अलग हैं उन के पास जाकर उन कि मदद करें, किसी गरीब कि सहायता करें और इसे एक पर्व कि तरह मनायें !

International Family Day: Friends, who does not like to be in a family! Everyone wants to live in a joint family. The United Nations has recognized the family as the cornerstone of society and reaffirms resolutions 44/82 and 46/97, passed in December 1989, and resolution 44/82, passed in December 1991, to show responsibility for the well-being of families. Proposal No. A/RES/47/237 , passed on 20 September 1993 ! According to this proposal, every year on 15th May it was said to be celebrated as International Family Day. This day not only gives the message of progress and prosperity to the families but also encourages the union of cultures all over the world.
